Just in.

Uptown Charlotte has a nightlife. Who knew?

I started my run at 1:30 and was in a pretty crowded section for most of the run. I started out way too fast, finishing the first mile in less than 9:00. My stomach started to cramp as I turned back off of Graham, and I thought seriously about turning back for home. I remembered what Bo said about ‘pick your distance before you start your run, and stick with it’ so I did. I ended up ‘finishing’ in 30:00. My original route had me making it all the way back to Graham on Hearn, but I was ok with the slightly early finish as a compromise with my gut. Anyway, shower and sleep are calling.

No running this week.

I have only run to work and back this week. My excuses are many, but the milage is non-existant. I will be running tomorrow, I will probably try and get out for a little bit tonight. When I started this post, I was thinking it was Friday night, oops. Well, I will run some tonight/in the morning and try for a long run tomorrow afternoon. I am thinking about a long one (route) solo. I will look into getting my splits set up so that I can insure a good pace (one of my problems with solo runs) and run with my cell phone in case I get into trouble. Should be a blast. I am looking at running this (route) tonight. It will be after Schroeder’s next feeding (midnight or so).

Ran 8 miles

Monday, November 20th, 2006

Ran on Sunday at 9:00 with Bo, Jeri, Susi, and Johnathan. Never got around to running again during the week. [excuse] I was up early enough on Saturday, but Heather had been up with Schroeder all night and he was still awake and active. [/excuse] We ran seven and a half or so miles and Bo took me for an additional little loop to complete my eight. Finished six miles in 55 minutes and the eight in one hour and twenty minutes. During the ‘little extra’ part, I got my first really strong endorphin hit (second wind) from running. I even managed a little sprint at the end. I am still the slowest, but I am getting more distance as time goes on. I believe I can make the half marathon in December.
