Great short run yesterday

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

So I ran the short route yesterday in right at 51 minutes! I ran the whole way, no intervals. I really got into a nice groove and had great fun listening to Software Engineering Radio, one of the many podcasts that I don’t often get to listen to unless I run. One of the ‘hills’ kicked my butt pretty hard, but I pushed on through it. I actually did better than I was thinking since I thought the course was 4.2 miles rather than 4.68, so I didn’t drop a full mile and did drop 14-15 minutes.

Treadmill Runs, Shuffle, Podcasts

Wednesday, February 7th, 2007

I ran again this morning. I got 3.29 miles on the treadmill. Still pounding my lower legs, but I guess it will make me stronger. I am going to attempt to do morning runs everyday for a while. I find my day goes much better after morning exercise. I also get to spend more time with Schroeder.

I am loving my Apple Shuffle. It is making the ’solo’ (yes, I count the treadmill runs as solo) runs much easier. I have downloaded a large number of technical podcasts, along with some great Science Fiction. I will add links to the ones I have subscribed to, but I have a question: are there podcasts specifically designed to use while running? A quick google finds many about running but not any designed to be listened to while running.
