Morning run
Saturday, June 7th, 2008Ran this route this morning, 6.8 miles out and back in 1:40.
I was planning on going all the way to work to pick up my Shuffle and bring up a desktop computer to remote into, but bailed on the longer trip when I passed the 45 minute mark. I remembered this being about half way and was concerned about making my morning commute into my morning run but GoogleMaps has a route that is only 5.4 miles:
and I believe I can get that done. I love the idea of two runs a day, I just hope my body loves it also. I am taking it quite easy since it has been a long time since I ran seriously. I have joined the fitness center at work and will drive if it is raining and do some treadmill work instead.
This was the first time I had run with a backpack on. I have a little string pack that I got from Posted in Run, Saturday, Procrastination, Treadmill, Morning, Shuffle | 1 Comment »
3 miles this morning
Thursday, February 22nd, 2007I ran 3 miles on the treadmill this morning. I believe I am starting to get over the hump I created when I stopped over Christmas. Still 220, 10 pounds heavier than I was for the last 1/2 marathon, but I signed up for my next one March 10th. I did a hard 1/2 hour yesterday on the eliptical and was all set for another but I just felt like running this morning. Looking forward to another trip to Crowder’s this weekend. I am going to make it to the top this time without stopping. Slowly, but without stopping.
Oh, the reason I gave myself for skipping anything over the weekend or Monday or Tuesday was the pain in my calves. I had trouble walking when I got up on Sunday after the hour on the eliptical Saturday. Different program than the one I did yesterday. I am going to hold of on doing that one again for a while

Morning run and time with Schroeder
Thursday, February 8th, 2007So I got in another run on the Treadmill this morning. Not as much leg pain. I noticed that my mileage from yesterday was off, I ran 3.11 (5k) and then did a cool down jog to walk. Same today with a total of 3.32 miles covered, 3.11 running with .21 cool down. Tomorrow I think I will spend the same amount of time on an elliptical machine to limit the impact trama. My runs have been burning around 1000 calories an hour, so I will try and get to that same work level.
I believe this is going to make a big difference in my overall fitness and happiness. Getting to spend at least 30 minutes each morning with Schroeder brings home why I am out working (other than the fact that I actually do love what I do). This morning, I got back in from the run and Heather was cooking breakfast. How cool is that?!?! I can already tell that my body is getting back to the point that the running is acceptable. I am not sure that I will be in any better shape this time for the 1/2 Marathon comming up in just over a month, but I won’t be in worse shape.
